Work environment and duties:
- Write and prepare reports.
- Research, analyze, and organize information and evidence.
- Organize investigative files using various systems, databases, and software.
- Work with officers and counsel in all stages of investigations, settlements, and litigation.
- Work with and apply legislation and policies including the Competition Act and the Canada Evidence Act.

We may create a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions within Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. These positions have various language requirements (Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB or English or French Essential). They have various security requirements (Reliability or Secret). They also have various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, specified period, assignment, secondment).

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary school program with acceptable specialization in a law-related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in a field relevant to the position being staffed.
EXPERIENCE:

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Completion of university-level courses in competition law or criminal law.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with document management information retrieval systems.
- Experience in utilizing a variety of specialized legal software applications and working with legal/administrative databases.
- Experience drafting legal documents and records and preparing machine readable/searchable notes.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of civil or criminal rules and procedures of all levels of the legal system relevant to the areas of practice.
- Knowledge of the mandate, organization and policies pertaining to law enforcement.
