A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION (Streams 1 & 2)
A post-secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience relating to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), Mechanical, electrical, or control systems in facilities.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE - STREAM 1
1. Minimum 7 years of experience* in the commissioning field
2. Experience* in collaborating on planning and technical development of commissioning services for projects related to multi-purpose, highly specialized facilities.
3. Experience* in the construction, installation and servicing of HVAC, hydronic, electrical and/or Building Automation systems in commercial, industrial and/or special purpose facilities.
4. Experience* in the techniques, development, management, testing & verification of commissioning plans and their implementation in real property or construction Mechanical, Electrical and/or Building Automation Systems.

* Experience to be directly involved with the commissioning process e.g. testing, organizing, witnessing.


EXPERIENCE - STREAM 2
1. Minimum 7 years of experience* in the Building system maintenance field
2. Experience* in collaborating on planning and/or technical development of technical maintenance service programs in buildings.
3. Experience* in the construction, installation and/or servicing of HVAC, hydronic, electrical and/or Building Automation systems in commercial, industrial and/or special purpose facilities.
4. Experience* in leading, developing and managing a maintenance program.
5. Experience in supervision and training of staff

*Experience to be directly related to building systems maintenance programs.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - STREAM 1
1. Licensed Professional Engineer
2. Building Commissioning Certification from a recognized organization (*CSA, ASHRAE, BCxA, AEE)
Examples: Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP), Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP)
*Canadian Safety Standards Z320 Gold Seal certificate by Canadian Construction Association must be accompanied by a professional certification requiring annual education credits.

VACCINATION:
On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
