Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this process is to staff 2 Indeterminate positions, 1 term position with various language profiles. In addition, applicants should be aware that this selection process may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level across Health Canada. As a result of the potential and possible use of the selection process and subsequent pool by hiring managers, we encourage all employees seeking this type of position/workstream and/or group and level to apply.

EDUCATION:

ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1. Significant* experience using a risk-based approach to critically evaluate and make recommendations on the quality aspects and compliance with the requirements of products regulated by Health Canada.

* Significant experience is defined as experience that would have been gained from doing the activities over a period of at least two (2) years or more.

EX2. Experience in providing scientific expertise or advice to stakeholders, industry, or management.

EX3. Experience in writing scientific reports and in presenting and defending recommendations based on scientific findings.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET EDUCATION:

AED1. Master's or Doctorate degree in organic or analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy or in the fields of biochemistry, chemical engineering as related to the duties of the position.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE:

AEX1. Significant* experience working in the area of pharmaceutical drugs or other products regulated by Health Canada. This experience could include manufacturing, quality control, research and development, or regulatory affairs.

* Significant experience is defined as experience that would have been gained from doing the activities over a period of at least 2 years or more.

AEX2. Experience in conducting or participating in meetings or consultations with stakeholders.

AEX3. Experience contributing to the development of science policy or guidance documents.

AEX4. Experience providing scientific advice to stakeholders, industry or management within a regulatory context.
