Our office is in Edmonton, AB. The RCMP has adopted a service model where employees are working remotely from home until further notice.
This process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.
A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions on a term and/or permanent basis in Edmonton, AB within the RCMP. The pool could be used to offer acting appointments, assignments, secondments or deployments.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Recent experience developing applications with C#.
Recent experience developing and elaborating SQL queries.
Experience in Object Oriented programming and Design Patterns.
Experience with Methodologies and best practices in testing applications.
*Recent is defined as within the last 3 years.
Ability to communicate in writing effectively.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Project Planning.
Ability to solve technical problems using research and reasoning skills.
Ability to obtain and retain RCMP Top Secret Security Clearance (following successful application).
Willing and able to travel for work related purposes, throughout service area, using various modes of transportation, including air to remote areas.
Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Class 5 provincial Driver’s License.
Willing and able to work overtime hours, or adjust work schedule with little or no notice, to meet operational requirement.
Mobility to the extent of crawling under furniture to set up and assemble computer equipment.
Willing and able to work in a busy police environment.
