Duties

This position of Real Property Analyst reports to the Owner Investor directorate for the Parliamentary Precinct, located in Ottawa, Ontario, which provides the strategic vision and direction for the life cycle asset planning, development and management of the real property portfolio. In addition, this group is responsible for providing a strategic stewardship role, ensuring fulsome portfolio management and integrated investment planning while working with all sectors to fulfill requirements and optimize portfolio assets.

Intent of the process

A pool of partially assessed candidates will be established through this process to staff bilingual positions with various security requirements across Canada. This pool will be opened to other Departments.

Tell us about you! We want to know why you would be a great candidate for the position of Real Property Analyst and what you would bring to the team.

1) Do you have a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics?

2) Explain how you have acquired at least 5 years’ experience in the last 10 years, in a commercial real property context, in one or a combination of these fields:

• Appraisal
• Portfolio management
• Asset management
• Leasing
• Development
• Land use and/or site planning

Note 1: Your resume must clearly demonstrate the years of experience you have working in at least one of the fields above. Examples which could help demonstrate this are: noting your roles, your responsibilities, your tasks, your title, your supervisor’s title and/or your group.

Note 2: The tasks you are describing must have been undertaken directly and not undertaken by a third-party (e.g.: overseeing a 3rd party leasing broker does not count as leasing experience). In addition, working in an ancillary field but dealing with commercial real property is not applicable (e.g.: working in the banking sector providing loans or mortgages for commercial real property).

VACCINATION:
On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring.
