Duties

Employees in the AAFC Contact Centre have the opportunity to work with dynamic leaders and colleagues on interesting files that matter to Canadians. The AAFC contact centre boasts a collaborative, respectful and inclusive team environment with constant opportunities to learn and develop. Day to day tasks include:

• Interacting with clients via telephone to provide accurate information regarding program policy and legislation.
• Providing advice and guidance on the processes, procedures, and requirements related to specific programs and services.
• Using a database system to process applications efficiently and effectively.
• Participating in the workplace quality assurance program.
• Consistently learning and implementing current procedures and guidelines.
• Mentoring new employees.

Intent of the process

We are always looking for dynamic and dedicated individuals to be part of our growing team! This selection process will be used to fill immediate and future vacancies, in the AAFC Contact Centre, located in Winnipeg, MB. Full time permanent and temporary positions will be staffed using this process.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - In order to be appointed, Reliability Status security clearance will be required, depending on the job you are being hired for. You will be expected to maintain this clearance throughout the duration of your employment.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU APPLY

► Step1: The first step in the process is to answer yes or no screening questions and uploading your resume. Responses to screening questions help us determine if you meet the education and determine whether you need to complete step 2 below in the assessment process.

►Step 2: Second language evaluation (SLE) tests will be administered for all candidates who do not have valid CBC/CBC language results in order to meet the bilingual language requirement.
• If you already have valid CBC/CBC Second language results, you will not need to complete step 2 of the assessment phase.
• If you need to be retested (reading, writing and/or oral) you will be contacted to make arrangements.
• If you have never had a SLE test done, you will be scheduled to complete a second language evaluation.

►Step 3: If you successfully complete step 2 of the process, you will be invited to answer a series of questions assessing some competencies. These questions will be provided to you by e-mail and can be completed in the comfort of your home.

►Step 4: You may be invited to attend a virtual interview where we will be assessing further competencies.

►Step 5: To conclude the assessment, you may be asked to provide references and additional information regarding other qualifications.
