• Planning, execution and completion of field and/or desk audits of licensed grain companies.
• Prepares Audit Results Letters for licensees, which include findings and recommendations.
• Provide support and supervision to the Junior Auditor or new audit staff members in the execution of audit procedures and financial reviews where required.
• Prepares claim files in the event of licensee failure to meet obligations to producers.
• Participates in risk based projects relating to process improvements in response to industry change.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting and auditing, business administration, commerce, finance or some other specialty relevant to the position.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
EXPERIENCE:
• Recent* and significant** experience in the planning, execution and reporting of audits.
• Experience in performing financial reviews.
* Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
** Significant is defined as 2 or more years in duration.

KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of the Canada Grain Act and Regulations and Orders.
• Knowledge of the theory and application of audit techniques, including the analysis and evaluation of internal controls.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Grain Commission and its services.

Reliability Status security clearance
• Accounting designation must be maintained up-to-date and in good standing.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or personal mobility in the time and manner normally associated with possession and use of a driver’s license.

• Availability and willingness to undergo job-related training.
• Availability and willingness to travel within North America.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
Candidates will be asked, as per the application process, to answer screening questions for each essential and other criteria (education and experience). Candidates will have to provide specific examples, for each screening question demonstrating how they have acquired the education and experience criteria.
