Education
~ Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary educational program or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
~ Successful completion of the Fishery Officer Career Progression Program (FOCPP), (http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/career-carriere/enf-loi/training-formation-eng.htm)
OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience working in law enforcement

Experience
~ Experience in the establishment of cooperative working relationships* with fishing industry stakeholder groups (e.g. fishing industries, or aboriginal organizations or Harbour Authorities) OR with other government departments OR Law Enforcement Agencies
~ Experience in managing human and financial resources
~ Experience in conducting analysis and providing strategic advice** and recommendations to senior management
Recent extensive experience*** enforcing natural resource legislation, or law enforcement
* Establishing Cooperative Working Relationships is the focus on the setting up, bringing about, or building relationships; while Cooperative is the working or acting together willingly for a common purpose or benefit. Aspects should include informal and formal initiatives, leadership of committees or program development, etc

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
~ Willing and able to undertake training relevant to the position on an ongoing basis.
~ Willing and able to travel within and outside Canada.
~ Willing and able to work overtime on occasion and on short notice
