A pool may be established as a result of this process and may be used to fill similar positions with various tenures (via Acting, Assignment, Deployment, Indeterminate, Secondment, Specified Period, Casual), language requirements and security profiles within the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma*.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1: Experience in at least two of the following:
• procurement of goods;
• procurement of services;
• procurement of construction
EX2: Experience in assessment of client needs.
EX3: Experience in providing services to clients in a high volume and multi-tasking environment.
EX4: Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel or Outlook.

Information on employment equity

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Persons are entitled to participate in the selection process in the official language of their choice (English or French). Applicants are asked to indicate their preferred official language in their application.

It is the responsibility of the candidate to clearly outline that they meet each of the screening criteria (i.e., Education and Experience Qualifications, both Essential and Assets) by responding to the screening questions in the online application using specific examples and by providing additional detail in their résumé. Answers to the screening questions and candidate résumés will both be used as sources to determine that the Education and Experience Qualifications are met.

Asset qualifications may be taken into consideration when selecting candidates for interviews and/or appointment. Therefore, we ask candidates to identify which of the asset criteria that they meet and provide concrete examples to demonstrate how they meet them.

For this selection process, our intention is to communicate with the candidates by email. The Selection Committee reserves the right to contact references other than those provided by the candidates (within the Public Service only), if found necessary, in order to adequately assess the candidates.

Proof of education will be required. Candidates will be asked to provide their proof of education (including degree equivalency, if applicable) at the interview stage.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
