On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation
Brief description of duties:
-Provide a variety of warehouse related information to all clients to assist them in obtaining required supplies or equipment. Discuss solutions for identified problems with Manager and co-workers, perform routine stock verification, help maintain power and non-power warehouse equipment and assets.
-Exchange information with suppliers, freight companies, courier firms, Canada Post and all clients when receiving, examining and signing for goods upon delivery, or providing instructions regarding out going shipments (ie. Dangerous goods, firearms).
This process will be used to staff two indeterminate full time positions, 1 - Regina, Saskatchewan, 1 - Winnipeg, Manitoba
A pool of qualified candidates resulting from this process may be established to staff similar positions with various language requirements
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school* or employer-approved alternatives
*Two years of secondary school is typically completion of grade ten
*Recent experience providing customer service
(*Recent experience is defined as a minimum of three consecutive months within the past three years)
*Recent experience in a warehouse environment with materiel control duties of EACH of the following: storage, shipping and receiving
(*Recent experience is defined as a minimum of three consecutive months within the past three years)
Experience in working with basic computer applications such as MS Office (Word and Excel), Email and Internet Explorer
Experience using the Materiel Management Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) system
Experience with the use of automated shipping systems such as Purolator Courier, Fedex, etc.
Experience with or working knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Information System
Experience with or working knowledge of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act
Willingness and ability to use material handling equipment to move heavy items on a daily basis
Willingness and ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice
Willingness and ability to travel for work related and/or training purposes
Willingness to safely handle firearms, munitions and hazardous goods including irritants and explosives
Willingness and ability to lift and carry boxes or equipment weighing up to 30kg on a daily basis
Willingness and ability to stand for extended periods of time on a daily basis
Willingness and ability to wear Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approved footwear and supplied uniform
Willing and able to bend and go up and down ladders on a daily basis

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship/Permanent Residency prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates.
Volume management strategies such as random selection, top-down approach, or use of asset qualifications may be used. If you meet any of the asset qualifications (other qualifications), please be sure to provide detailed responses in the screening questionnaire
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, assessments for this process will be administered virtually. This may include both an exam and interview.
The successful applicant will have to obtain an RCMP security clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, on-line activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc.
Successful applicant is required to work in Regina, Saskatchewan or Winnipeg, Manitoba. Telework or alternate work locations will not be an option.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
