On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Duties

Verifies and applies appropriate financial coding, supplier contact information and ensuring appropriate approval signatures, enters requisitions into the financial Information system (SAP) and reconciles monthly credit card statements. Provides information and guidance to managers and employees on procurement and administrative procedures. Makes arrangements for repairs and maintenance of office equipment such as photocopiers and fax machines.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff one term position ASAP until March 31, 2022 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. This process may be used to staff similar positions of various tenures within Fisheries and Oceans Canada in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

EDUCATION
- Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in providing general administrative support such as but not limited to coordination, processing incoming document, mail, scanning and copying documentation
- Experience providing financial support, including inputting and extracting information from a financial database
- Experience providing service or processing requests from Internal or External Clients in an office environment
- Experience in data entry using spreadsheet, word processing or database software

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

- Successful completion of a post secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, office administration, commerce, economics
- Experience working with an acquisition card, performing reconciliation of credit card statements
- Experience in providing contract administration and material management support services
- Experience in coordinating travel

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s licence
- Due to service delivery requirements, agreement to work 8:00 to 4:00 daily and the ability to work 5 days/week will be required, as well as travel between primary and secondary Office locations (Tusket and Meteghan, respectfully) within 65 kms.
- Willingness to travel periodically for training or mandatory meetings
