A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT CFHA...
As a Special Operating Agency reporting to the Department of National Defence (DND), CFHA contributes to the quality of life of CAF members and their families through the provision of housing services, and through the responsible and sustainable management of the Department’s housing infrastructure. We are a team of 330 federal public servants who work hard to meet the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces families living in DND housing. We have close to 220 employees at our Housing Services Centres across Canada and 110 employees at our Head Office in Ottawa.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one indeterminate position with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Notes:
1) Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

2) An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in planning and managing highly complex, multi-dimensional economic, financial or socioeconomic research to support the development of frameworks for programs.
• Experience in research and analysis of program issues and providing recommendations regarding program or policy issues.
• Experience in the management of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and staff, including the associated human resources, work planning, performance measurements and budgets.
• Experience in financial management.

ASSETS - EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in rental housing or Real Property management at the portfolio level.
• Experience with the analysis or management of program issues relating to the Department of National Defence Real Property.
• Experience in interpreting and advising on real property policy.
• Experience with data, tools, and reports utilized within the residential real estate industry (such as CMHC).
• Experience in managing human and financial resources in the Federal Government.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service. As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
