On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. Stream A – Learning Consultant
-As a Learning Advisor your mandate will be to equip and provide knowledge and skills to departmental employees to help serve Canadians. You will act as an ambassador for the College@ESDC in the coordination and delivery of learning services.
Stream B – Instructional Designer
-As an Instructional Designer, your mandate will be to analyze, design, develop and update learning products, in various formats, for departmental employees to help serve Canadians.
Stream C – Accessibility Advisor
-As an Accessibility Advisor, you will be involved in evaluating courses and digital materials for accessibility compliance. You will work as part of a team using evaluation tools and assistive technologies such as screen readers to evaluate the accessibility of the College's digital products.
Stream D – Analyst, Business Analysis
-As a Business Analyst, you will analyze qualitative and quantitative data for reporting and recommendations to senior management. You will manage multiple horizontal queries, consult with internal teams to obtain required information, edit as necessary, and develop briefing notes and presentations. You will also follow up with College teams to obtain updates on targeted initiatives to support business planning and horizontal requests.
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established and could also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles and/or various security requirements within ESDC.
Immediate staffing will be limited to the designated workplace established by ESDC's Human Resources Services Branch, such as:
Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Fredericton, Dartmouth, Toronto, Gatineau, Montréal Island, Québec.
Our team has been working remotely since March 2020. While we don’t know what our “office of the future” will look like, we do know that remote work works. • A degree from a recognized university with a specialization in adult education, educational studies, communications, social sciences, computer-related studies, or any other field relevant to the position.
• Post-secondary diploma in Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Web Design, New Media or Multimedia, or other fields related to the position.
Experience
SPECIFIC TO STREAM B
• Experience in the design and development of learning products in a legislative environment.
• Experience in the design and development of learning products in a technical environment.
• Experience in the design and delivery of competency/soft skills based learning products.
• Experience working with a learning management system.
• Experience with information records management systems and/or applications.
• Experience in developing online materials or websites or applications (with UX, UI and/or Accessibility considerations).
• Experience using course authoring software.
SPECIFIC TO STREAM C
• Experience in collaborating with Digital Accessibility team members and business line partners to incorporate accessibility best practices and WCAG standards into products and platforms, so they understand accessibility concerns and determine feasible solutions.
• Experience in accessibility assessment using accessibility evaluation tools and assistive technology.
• Experience conducting usability tests that include participants with disabilities.
• Experience in documenting testing methodology and in providing results of accessibility tests and a comprehensive report.
