Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of one of the following valid Provincial / Territorial Trade Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate of qualification:
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)
- Industrial Electrician
- Power Plant Operator
- Certified Engineering Technician (Mechanical/ Electrical)
- OR Canadian Armed Forces Electrical Generating Systems Technician qualification DP2A (QL5) or higher.

EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Recent* and significant** experience working with auxiliary power unit (APU) systems and uninterruptible power source (UPS).
EX2: Recent* experience in supervising.

*Recent means within the last five (5) years.
**Significant is defined as two (2) consecutive years.

OR1: Willingness to work at heights.

OR6: Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain Petroleum Mechanic Certification (PM3).

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Conditions of Employment:
COE1: A valid, unrestricted provincial driver’s licence holding a qualification (class) equivalent to the DND vehicle to be driven/operated.
COE2: Current and acceptable driver’s abstract.
COE3: Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain the DND 404 military driver’s licence.
COE4: Must maintain a valid trade's license or Red Seal certification or certification of qualification throughout their employment with the Department.
COE5: Willing and able to lift up to 20kgs in accordance with safety practices.
COE6: Employees are required to comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures including wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment.

Note: Candidates must meet and maintain the above conditions of employment throughout their employment.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
