This inventory may be used by the Department of National Defence to fill immediate short term vacancies (90 calendar days or less than 3 month term) in various locations.
We may also use this inventory to fill future vacancies with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), security requirements, and conditions of employment.

Please let us know if you meet any of the following, these may be applicable for the position being staffed:
• Possession of a valid Provincial or Territorial Trade Certificate relevant to the position;
• Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate of qualification relevant to the position;
• Acceptable (at time of application) equivalent Canadian Armed Forces qualification for applicable trades based on the position to be staffed; OR
• An acceptable combination of education, training, or experience relevant to the position being staffed.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in the field related to the position being staffed.
Asset Experience:
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Experience working in a ship repair facility
• Experience working with safety practices and work procedures in an industrial environment.
• Experience as a driver or operator
• Experience related to upholstery or textiles
• Experience related to repair and inspection of marine survival or rescue equipment
• Experience related to industrial metal cleaning
• Experience in industrial or marine painting
• Experience in electroplating
• Experience working or volunteering in a mixed public service and military environment

• Willing and able to adjust work schedule to meet operational requirements as required.
• Willing and able to work overtime, shift, and be on call.
• Willing and able to work in adverse conditions or environments which may include, but not limited to, confined spaces, heights, and extreme weather conditions.
• Willingness and able to travel abroad on occasion
• Required to lift and carry heavy objects, tools and equipment (up to 25 kgs) throughout worksite and up and down ladders.

Other conditions of employment may be required for some positions. These conditions will be communicated to the candidates considered for that specific appointment. They may include:
• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit
• Required to work overtime and shift work.
• Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
• Required to climb vertical ladders, and also access cramped and/or confined spaces.
• Required to work in High Hazard Industrial Environment that contains noxious fumes.
• Required to conduct at-sea trials in naval vessels, occasionally over a period of days.
• Required to maintain regulated trade certification
Managers may establish conditions of employment specific to the position being staffed. Candidates must meet and maintain the conditions of employment throughout their employment.

6. Asset qualifications can be invoked as essential qualifications as identified by the hiring manager.
7. Appointment decisions may be based on one or more of the following criteria:
a. Matching of the individual's experience or qualifications to the strengths and weaknesses of the work team;
b. Matching of the individual's experience or qualifications to the specific duties of the position being staffed;
c. Depth, breadth, type of work-specific experience;
d. Level/degree of one or more competencies/qualifications; and
e. Organizational needs, including Employment Equity
