The Canada Energy Regulator works to keep energy moving safely across the country. Reporting to the Vice President, Communications and Engagement, the Director, Integration, Planning and Analytics is accountable for providing centralized operations and planning support to the Business Unit in four main areas: planning and reporting; financial management; translation and Official Language services; and CEO communications and engagement services. This includes developing, implementing and evaluating integrated CEO communications and engagement strategies and plans and provision of dedicated CEO support. The position is responsible for delivery of translation and Official Language services to the organization as well as coordinating the completion of business unit activities related to business planning, risk assessment, corporate reporting, ATIP and parliamentary requests, and program evaluation. It also involves ensuring that the Business Unit’s financial reporting, human resources and administrative processes are effectively and efficiently managed. The Director provides strategic advice to the Vice President, Communications and Engagement and other senior executives on integration and planning matters.
The Director is accountable for the overall success of the Integration, Planning and Analytics team and for the performance and development of each individual on that team. The Director ensures that their team is aligned with and work toward the strategic vision of the core responsibility, Business Unit and the CER as a whole and works with their peers across the organization to create similar alignment to achieving engagement and communication related goals across the broader organization. The Director manages financial resources in accordance with their delegated authority to accomplish results and manages the human resources activities of the team including recruitment, development, managing team schedules and workload priorities, and external contracts.

As per the new CER Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination, all employees of the CER must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
2. The Canada Energy Regulator has a classification system that differs from the greater public service. This NEB-12 position is similar to an EX-01 in terms of salary range only. The benefits offered, including relocation assistance, may be significantly different than those offered in the greater public service. This position is subject to CER’s Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada Collective Agreement.

5. Appointment Requirements: Candidates must meet each essential qualification and the conditions of employment to be appointed to the position. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, organizational needs or operational requirements; however, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing right fit for appointment.
6. Salary: Effective 1 November 2020 NEB 12, $118,338 to $143,979
The Canada Energy Regulator has the following forms of additional compensation that are separate from base salary, the eligibility for which is determined, in accordance with the provisions in the collective agreement or terms and conditions of employment for the duration period specified:
• a Calgary Allowance in the amount of 4.95% of base salary may be paid on a bi-weekly payroll basis
• annual performance pay which includes elements of individual performance (60% of payout) and corporate performance (40% of payout)
