EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management, project management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be reassessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
Note: Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
EXPERIENCE:
Recent* and significant** experience managing the activities of teams of a minimum of 3 employees, including delegating work, monitoring progress and managing employee performance over a complete performance cycle from goal setting to performance management objectives.
Recent* and significant** experience contributing to cost estimates or resource requirements for IT activities and experience writing and presenting estimates or materials for a senior audience (Director or above).
Recent* experience formulating and implementing IM/IT plans and strategies (short and long terms) to achieve the objectives of the client or management where your involvement in the project or initiative was for a minimum of 6 months.
Recent* experience of a minimum of 4 years in one or more of the following disciplines:
• Infrastructure/Operations
• Application Development, Database and Data Administration
• Project Management
• Enterprise Architecture
• IT Security
*Recent experience is defined as experience that was acquired within the last six years.
**Significant experience is defined as experience that was a core part of the applicant’s employment and that would normally be acquired over a period of two years or more by performing the full range of activities noted.
