As a Manager, some of your key duties will include:
- Plan, coordinate and authorize printing, and act as a technical authority representative for the printing of a wide range of material requested by Statistics Canada’s (STC) clients via commercial suppliers and STC Printing Centre Services.
- Manage the development of standards, guidelines and procedures for all printing inquiries.
- Formulate and recommend innovative printing and provide support to printing procurement strategies, approaches, methodologies, processes, software and procedures to meet STC production needs.
- Provide consultative services and advice on technically complex printing, printing procurement needs as well as requirements and best practices.
- Plan, interpret, analyze, estimate and write statement of work with detailed printing specifications for a wide range of products.
- Monitor and ensure production schedules are maintained and review completed to perform quality control to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Responsible for the sectional operating budget, equipment purchasing, leasing, service & maintenance requirements, asset management and supplies.
-Manage on-site operational team and provide day-to-day support to resources providing these services.

Education:
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.
“Social Science” includes economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology, and other disciplines associated with social science. “Library/archival work” includes gallery and museum functions.

Experience:
EXP1. *Significant experience working in a printing production environment
*Significant is defined as having approximately 3 years of experience in a printing production environment
EXP2. Experience in supervision in an operational environment.
EXP3. *Recent experience liaising with all parties involved in the methods and techniques of the printing industry including Offset or Digital.
*Recent is defined as having performed the duties within the last 5 years
AEXP1. Experience working with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office software package, PrePress software and Administrative Print Management System.
AEXP2. Experience in managing and negotiating contracts.
AEXP3. Experience working in a Distribution Centre environment
AEXP4. Experience in the reporting of administrative documents, such as invoicing
AEXP5. Experience in the development of employee performance reports.
AEXP6. Experience applying methods and procedures involved in the purchasing of supplies and equipment.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
