Provision of institutional services and supplies, such as: ordering inmate/officer clothing, protective clothing/footwear, bedding and linens, inmate personal grooming and property items, household and janitorial supplies, office and cell furniture, housekeeping equipment and supplies, maintenance, tailoring, and laundry, recycling, barbering, mail, parcel and shipping services, coordination of external errands and institutional services in a facility of the Correctional Service of Canada.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.
Results of this process will be to create a pool of qualified candidates from which future indeterminate, acting and/or specified period vacancies may be filled. This pool may be used to staff other similar or lower level positions (*GS STS-04) on a casual, term or indeterminate basis in the Pacific Region.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or a High School Equivalency (GED) or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience providing materiel management services including: receiving, storing, recording and issuing material
Experience packaging and shipping material
Experience in operating a computer in programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
Experience in the supervision and training of individuals
English essential

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of warehousing procedures including receiving, storing, shipping and inventory control/management
Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) regulations

EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a correctional environment (institutional or community office)
Experience working in a female-focused offender institution
Experience working in an aboriginal-focused offender environment
Experience working in a high security and/or multi-level facility with a varied offender population
Experience dealing with the public (i.e. Customer Service)
Experience operating institutional canteen system
Experience in IFMMS, FSIMS and/or OMS
Experience working in inmate clothing as it pertains to offenders in an institutional setting
Experience in inmate purchasing (Inmate Trust Funds - ITF)
Experience in procurement (acquiring quotes, processing orders and receiving goods)
Experience working with and/or training offenders
Experience in minor mechanical repairs and/or general maintenance
Experience operating housekeeping/ housecleaning equipment

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
