As Team Lead, you will provide support, maintenance, configuration and participate in projects to enhance our SAP Financial and Material Management systems including, Account Payable, Account Receivable, Sales and Distribution, Funds Management, Controlling, Project Systems, Salary Forecasting tool, General Ledger, Special Purpose Ledger, Enterprise Asset Management, Real Estate, an SAP Portal, Fiori tiles, SAP Business Warehouse on Hana, Business Object, Business Consolidation and Planning, Analysis for Office, I2P, Interfaces and DFSA solution. You will represent the AAFC SAP Cluster interest on inter-departmental committees and working groups in order to provide input to government-wide financial policies, systems, procedures and strategies. Also leads and manages a team of employees and/or consultants. These positions are client focused and team driven in order to provide superior support and to ensure a reliable, modern and sustainable financial and material management solutions build on the SAP Hana platform.
The Financial Management Applications (FMA) division at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) is a leading, highly reputable SAP Center of Excellence (CoE) providing quality support to an established SAP cluster consisting of 7 departments and 4 smaller agencies. The AAFC SAP CoE is responsible to provided quality maintenance, support and configuration for the SAP Finance and Materiel Management systems including reporting, planning and analytics. The AAFC CoE provides excellent training, documentation and guidance on the SAP financial functionalities and best practices. The team is also responsible for providing strategic vision, direction and roadmap for the continuous development and advancement of the SAP AAFC Cluster solutions.

The immediate need is to staff one (1) position on indeterminate basis.
Note: The position is currently located in Ottawa, but could potentially be performed in another location in Canada with an AAFC regional office. During the Covid-19 pandemic response, telework is our current practice.

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics and experience* related to positions in the Financial Management Group.
*Experience required must be related to financial management and relevant to the FI position being staffed. It can be acquired in the Public Service as well as through other means, e.g. private sector, volunteer work, self-employment, etc.

Experience:
- Recent and significant experience* in analyzing, developing, implementing and maintaining financial integrated systems using SAP technology and systems techniques.
- Recent and significant experience* in providing advice and recommendations to stakeholders and management on best practices using SAP tools and applications.
- Experience in requirements gathering and transforming business requirements into technical design and development.
*Recent and significant experience is defined as having two (2) years' experience normally acquired within the last five (5) years.
Asset qualifications:
- Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA).
- Experience in managing human resources, such as assigning work, managing employee leave, conducting performance management appraisals, or coaching.
- Experience in maintaining, reconciling, and implementing controls to manage resources.
- Experience in at least two (2) of the following areas: accounting operations, financial policies, financial planning and resource management, financial management advisory services, budgeting, costing, financial reporting and financial systems.
- Experience in the research, development and implementation of financial procedures, policies, or directives.
- Experience in the development and delivery of training.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in analyzing, developing, implementing and maintaining a Business Warehouse /Business Intelligence system or a budgeting /forecasting application.
