Duties

Project Manager EN-ENG-04:

This process is to identify qualified Project Managers. Successful candidates will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment located in the Pacific Region and will manage real property projects characterised as having a moderate level of complexity and value. Positions are based in Vancouver and the work involves a variety of activities ranging from the pre-design to the post construction and occupancy stages of projects, including:

• Analysis of client’s project requirements;
• Procurement and execution of various site studies by subject matter experts including: pre design reports, building condition reports, heritage studies, geotechnical and environmental reports, etc.;
• Procurement and management of design and construction contracts through the Real Property Contracting group;
• Management of all aspects of real property projects in accordance with the PMI knowledge areas and PSPC’s project management system;
• Implementation of quality assurance reviews during all phases of service delivery to ensure objectives of time, cost and quality are being met;
• Compilation of data for the preparation of budgets, forecasts and monitoring of expenditures;
• Management of project-specific teams and provision of direct client service in the delivery of projects.

Senior Project Manager EN-ENG-05:

This process is to identify qualified Senior Project Managers. The candidate would manage large, complex projects or be responsible and accountable for the delivery of programs of real property projects to one or more federal government clients. The Senior Project Manager also has supervisory responsibility for one or more project managers and officers as well as financial responsibility and accountability for project or program funding. Positions are based in Vancouver and the work involves a variety of activities ranging from the pre-design to the post construction and occupancy stages of projects, including:

• Analysis of client’s project requirements;
• Procurement and execution of various site studies by subject matter experts including: pre design reports, building condition reports, heritage studies, geotechnical and environmental reports, etc.;

EXPERIENCE:
For the Project Manager EN-ENG-04 positions:
• Significant experience* in managing real property projects with varying degrees of complexity and magnitude.
• Experience in managing projects involving the renovation or repair of real property infrastructure.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a real property environment.

*Significant experience for the EN-ENG-04 positions is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with full-time performance of these duties for a period of at least five (5) years.

For the Senior Project Manager EN-ENG-05 positions:
• Significant experience* in managing multi-discipline real property projects with high degrees of complexity** and magnitude.
• Experience providing strategic advice to clients or senior management on the development or delivery of real property programs.
• Experience managing human and financial resources in a real property project environment.

*Significant experience for the EN-ENG-05 positions is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with full-time performance of these duties for a period of at least eight (8) years.
**Complexity is defined by factors such as operational environment, technical difficulty, multiple stakeholders, multi-jurisdictional involvement, expanded multi-disciplinary project teams, sensitive, risk/security involved, significant heritage components, specific governance and communications, interrelated projects and programs, high level authorities for project and funding approvals, and intricate partnerships and significant collaboration.

Conditions of employment

Various security clearance requirements: Reliability Status or Secret

• Willingness and ability, in the future, to undergo and maintain additional security clearance such as; secret and secret enhanced, in order to meet government and clients’ needs
• Possession of a valid B.C. Driver's license OR personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid driver's license, within the limits of the Treasury Board Policy.
