Duties

The pedagogical expertise cell supports RMC Saint-Jean's mission to develop bilingual leaders imbued with exemplary that serve Canada with distinction.

As part of Pedagogical Expertise Cell, you will be called upon to promote of pedagogy and success through providing Royal Military College Saint-Jean’s teaching staff and learners with:
- Expert counselling in pedagogy, educational technologies and special needs education
- Design, development and evaluation of didactical material
- Learning and teaching support services

Key activities:
- Conduct needs analysis
- Develop, maintain and review programmes and courses, learning evaluation tools as well as multimedia material.
- Design and develop learning material such as training plans, lesson plans
- Deliver training to personnel on subjects pertaining to pedagogy and education in general.
- Offer expert advice to the teaching staff on subjects pertaining to programmes, courses and learning evaluation tools.
- Ensure the conformity of didactic material.

Looking for new opportunities to develop your skill set through a variety of educational projects as an ED-EDS-02 Instructional designer? Do you want to contribute to adult learning success, provide expert advice to trainers and teachers, facilitate training workshops, design and develop learning material, etc.

Join the team of the Pedagogical Expertise Cell at the Royal Military College Saint-Jean (RMC Saint-Jean) within the Department of National Defence!!

RMC Saint-Jean is a military teaching establishment (college, university, professional development). It is located on the banks of the Richelieu River (30 minutes from Montreal), on the historic site of Fort Saint-Jean, where it is possible to relax during a break or over lunch with its green spaces and old trees. You have access to free parking and an affordable cafeteria. In addition, there are sports facilities (swimming pool, gym, various courses).

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff 2 term positions for 2 years and 2 indeterminate position. A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established from this process to staff the same or similar positions within National Defence.

Education

At the time of hire, have:

Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education or didactic or instructional design or another specialization related to the positions in the group to be filled.
OR
Any other master's degree combined with a graduate degree (min. 30 Quebec credits or 10 courses) in education, didactics, instructional design or any field related to education.

Degree equivalency

Experience
EX1. Recent* and significant** Experience providing educational advice to various types of stakeholders (content expert, trainer, management)
EX2. Recent* and significant** Experience in the design, development and evaluation of multimedia materials (online and classroom)
EX3. Experience using a systems approach to program/course development
EX4. Experience in managing training projects

* Recent experience means these tasks were exercised within the past 5 years

** Significant experience is defined as the degree and diversity of the experience by the regular execution of the said tasks over a period of approximately of 3 years.
