Duties

As an Intelligence Analyst & Operational Support at the PM-04 level, you will monitor emergent situations and possible threats to the national transportation system. You will liaise with external stakeholders as well as the various Modes within Transport Canada to fulfill our regulatory obligations in response to safety and security events. During emergency situations, you will play a key role in ensuring the flow of information both within the Department and with external stakeholders.

Work environment

Our work schedule features a hybrid model of shift work that requires physical presence at our office at 330 Sparks Street. There are also shifts featuring remote work from home to complete special projects for the various Modes (Aviation, Rail, and Marine) and other internal partners.

Intent of the process

// What is an inventory? //

When someone applies to an inventory, the Jobs.gc.ca system will automatically screen you in the inventory if you answer yes to all essential experiences and education. EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

* An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience includes two (2) years of high school with two (2) years of relevant experience and/or training.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in conducting research, analysis, and/or preparing written reports for senior management* and/or stakeholders.
(*) Senior Management is defined as Manager-level and above.

Experience in two or more of the following:

1. Experience in emergency preparedness or emergency management;
2. Experience working in an Operations Centre*;
3. Experience in initiating or coordinating or participating in an organizational response to an incident**;
4. Experience in client relations (e.g. building and maintaining working relationships, providing subject matter expertise, responding to requests for information, and/or collaborating with other divisions and departments).

(*) Operations Centre is defined as a work location where these activities are conducted:
1. Command and control operations; and
2. Communication; and
3. Management of resources and information.
(**) Incident is defined as an occurrence and/or event that interrupts normal procedure or precipitates a crisis.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

1. All employees are required to work shift work as part of a 24/7 operation Centre (24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week, and open 365 days a year
2. During an incident/crisis response, you must be able to perform overtime on short notice.
3. In the event of an emergency relocation (business continuity), you must be able to walk up and down several flights of stairs.
