What you need to know:
• A group situation is scheduled as an assessment tool. The people who will be summoned at this assessment may be required to travel to the Maurice Lamontagne Institute, if the sanitary instructions allow it and assume responsibility for their travel expenses during the evaluation.

PM-04 : You will be responsible for leading major initiatives with internal and external partners. For example, you may be called upon to make engagement, negotiate funding or contribution agreements, and conduct Aboriginal consultations for major projects. You may also have to supervise employees.
PM-05 : You will be responsible for supervising and engage a team and ensure effective management of the mandates assigned to it. You will need to coordinate all activities carried out by your team, such as partner engagement, grant or contribution agreements and Aboriginal consultations.

Regional management of the Ecosystem Management of Fisheries and Oceans Canada has a mandate to ensure the conservation and protection of aquatic ecosystems, freshwater and marine, the Quebec region by the implementation of policies that flow from federal laws. We are located at the Maurice Lamontagne Institute in Mont-Joli, a Francophone research center located on the edge of the St. Lawrence Estuary. Due to the pandemic COVID-19, employees are required to work from home. When a decision will be made regarding to return to work, it is expected that candidates will be available to perform their duties at the traditional workplace, at 850, route de la Mer, Mont-Joli. We could consider offering flexible work arrangements. This option will be determined on a case-by-case basis based on any guidance that may be issued by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
As a result of this process, a pool of fully or partially qualified candidates will be created to fill similar positions, or identical, various tenures and with various language requirements, at the Maurice Lamontagne Institute, located in Mont-Joli (Quebec). Presently, we anticipate needs and intend to use this selection process to fill the ecosystem management Regional Direction.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders, Indigenous organizations, other government departments or other interest groups to carry out a program, a strategy or a project.
• Experience in managing complex* project under tight deadlines and high demands.
*Complex: Referred to as complex, a project for which issues are present, obstacles are encountered and sometimes hardly predictable; several stakeholders and/or specialists may be involved in the achievement of results. The complexity of the project can be linked to the field or its scope.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in administration or any other degree with a specialization in a field related to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience in the area of financial management; resource planning, budgeting and financial forecasts.
• Experience in the development and monitoring of agreements of grant and/or contribution to the government (provincial or federal).
• Experience in engaging stakeholders and partners using a variety of methods, tools, and media.
• Experience in the conduct of consultations or negotiations with other government organizations, federal, provincial or municipal, or with industries.
• Experience in planning and coordinating meetings, outreach, promotion or public events.
• Experience in collaboration, relationship building or engaging in discussions with Aboriginal communities or organizations in a professional setting.
