You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Asset qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and asset qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. Failing to do so could result in your application being rejected.
In many selection processes, the first step is screening. It's during the screening phase that the Assessment Board will decide whether your application will be considered further or will be rejected.
Complete the Application Screening Questionnaire thoroughly, by demonstrating how you meet the Education and Experience Criteria listed under “Essential Qualifications” and “Asset Qualifications”. Use concrete examples and dates by using the STAR technique, describing:
• The situation including dates;
• The tasks you were required to achieve;
• The actions you took; and
• The results of your actions.
Do not simply answer “Yes” or refer to your résumé. Should your examples not be concrete enough or should they contain insufficient details, your application may be rejected. We will not contact you to obtain further information.
All communication relating to this process, including email correspondence and telephone conversations, may be used in the assessment of qualifications.
