Duties

Leading a team of communications professionals, you will:

►Provide advice, guidance and direction on the development and execution of communications strategies and plans, the development of communications activities and products, as well as issues and crisis management, on a variety of topics of varying complexity.

►Provide advice and guidance to senior executives on communications approaches and issues aligned with ECCC and Government of Canada priorities and objectives.

►Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with program areas and other Communication teams, ensuring alignment towards common goals.

►Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the department’s stakeholders, municipalities, provinces/territories, federal departments and agencies, international partners.

►Support employee performance and career development, providing necessary tools and training, ongoing coaching and feedback as well as regular formal performance and career development discussions aligned with the department’s performance management cycle.

►Work collaboratively with members of the Directorate management team on issues of common interest, to enhance productivity and the work environment.

Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY
A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established through this process and will be used to staff bilingual CBC/CBC positions with various security requirements in various locations across Canada.

IMPORTANT: All federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act may use this selection process to appoint a candidate to its organization in a similar position. A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

►EXPERIENCE:

Experience in providing strategic communications advice to executive management up to the head of the organization.

Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies, including the development of a wide-range of communications products.

Experience collaborating with one or more of the following external partners : stakeholders, municipal, provincial, territorial governments, federal departments and agencies.

Experience in the management of human resources.
