The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various tenures, workplace arrangements, language requirements, and/or security clearance levels in various locations.

Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization* in economics, sociology or statistics.
*An acceptable specialization means at least three courses in the subject matter.
Experience:
Recent and extensive** experience in conducting research in a social policy domain, including designing methodology, compiling and analysing data and writing up findings in reports.
Experience analysing complex issues by examining academic research and/or government documents such as legislation, regulations, policies, program or business processes and providing recommendations based on the analysis.
Recent and extensive** experience in preparing and presenting briefing material and/or reports that offer advice, recommendations, or conclusions on complex issues to senior management***
Experience in supervision and leading a project.
**Three of the last five years
***Senior management is defined as Director General or equivalent

Asset Qualifications:
Experience as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces
Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization in the social sciences.
Graduation with a law degree (LLB,LLL or JD) from a recognized post-secondary institution with five years working experience
Experience conducting statistical analysis from large and/or complex data sets
Experience conducting academic research
Experience managing research projects
Experience in conducting investigations or administrative reviews
Experience in interpreting legislation, regulations and policies applicable to Veterans Affairs Canada client service programs
Experience using VAC’s program management software and databases such as the Client Service Delivery Network (CSDN) or GCCase
Experience working in an Ombud Office or Ombud-like environment
Experience conducting Gender Based Analysis Plus
