HOW TO APPLY:
You will be required to answer screening questions to demonstrate how you meet the Qualifications (Education and all Experiences).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of post-secondary program, with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics; or Possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
E1: Experience in interpreting financial policies, providing advice and guidance on financial policies, procedures and processes to managers and clients.

E2: Recent* experience working in a position that requires analyzing complex financial data and reporting in at least one (1) of the following activities or a combination of the following activities:
(a) Budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and/or financial analysis;
(b) Accounting operations;
(c) Auditing and/or internal control;
(d) Resource management

E3: Recent* and significant** experience in using MS Office software (such as Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and using advanced of MS Excel formulae and functions.

E4: Recent * and significant** experience in using integrated financial application (such as SAP, Oracle, etc).

Note:
*Recent is defined as experience obtained in the last three (3) years
**Significant is defined as depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of full time duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
(Not essential, but preference may be given to candidates who possess asset qualifications)

• Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in accounting, business administration, finance, commerce or economics.

Degree equivalency

• Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation.

• Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations.

• Experience in supervision.

• Experience in using SAP financial system.

• Experience working with information systems with large amount of data to create dashboards or reports customized for management.

• Experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes in accordance with financial directives, policies, acts, and regulations.

• Experience in providing financial training to staff

6) On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
