During the pandemic, depending on the position to be staffed, employees may be required to work exclusively from home or employees may be required to work from an assigned workplace. However, telework will continue to be part of a flexible work arrangement that may be available to you.

The intent is to staff various bilingual imperative positions at the EC-01 level within the Census, Regional Services and Operations Field of Statistics Canada. However, a pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions across Statistics Canada with various tenures, various security requirements and various linguistic requirements upon approval from the Census, regional Services and Operations Field.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social sciences, statistics, library/archival work or a law-related field.
OR
An acceptable combination ** of education, training and/or experience.
**Acceptable combination: Successful completion of 1-year post-secondary education and statistical or operational related work experience normally acquired over 1 year (full-time);
OR
Successful completion of high school (or PSC General Intelligence Test-320) and statistical related work experience normally acquired over 2 years (full-time).
Candidates with foreign educational credentials are required to provide proof of Canadian equivalency.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience in at least two (2) of the following nine (9).
If you have more than the minimum two (2) experiences, your additional responses may be considered as assets.
Please provide concrete examples for all experiences that apply.
1. Experience developing, using or maintaining data manipulation software such as, but not limited to, R, Python, SAS, SPSS, STATA, SQL.
2. Recent* and significant** experience in collection, data processing or data integration.
3. Experience in client interaction to identify needs, discuss requirements and propose solutions.
4. Experience in the application of accounting principles, concepts or in financial statement preparation or analysis.
5. Experience in documenting work flows or the development of specifications.
6. Experience developing application/system specifications or creating or executing test cases.
7. Experience working with or analyzing administrative data (e.g., data that was not primarily collected for statistical purposes).
8. Experience in the design, specification or development of data collection tools (electronic questionnaires or paper-based questionnaires).
9. Experience working with or analyzing unstructured information (e.g., systematically extracting information from text or graphics to create a dataset).
*Recent experience is defined as duties performed within the last four (4) years in a work or academic
environment.
**Significant experience is defined as the breadth and depth of experience normally acquired in the
performance of full-time work duties or in a post-secondary program, for a minimum period of eight (8) months.

ASSET EXPERIENCES :
• Experience working with Microsoft Power BI Suite (Power Pivot & Power Query).
• Experience working in or supporting a collection or operational processing environment.
