As Project Officer you would be responsible to assist or lead the overall planning, organization, and coordination of projects in support of the Science and Parliamentary Infrastructure Branch’s Long Term Plan and Vision (https://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/citeparlementaire-parliamentaryprecinct/rehabilitation/vplt-ltvp/2017-2018/page-1-eng.html). More specifically, the role requires coordination and/or leadership of multi-million dollar projects through the pre-planning phases, including the development of project charters, project plans, and business cases, with the objective to obtain funding and proceed to delivery.
Additional duties and/or responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Planning and carrying out research and studies to determine options/solutions to meet diverse accommodation needs of clients, and to support the development of project approval documents, plans and TB and other major submissions.
Synthesize and analyze the viability, costs benefits and risks of various options, and presents reports, with recommendations, to management for inclusion in reports, plans and submissions.
Provide planning and analytical support to project teams, which includes the development/drafting of project cost estimates, risk management, contingency and implementation plans and reports for accommodation, renovation and fit-up projects.
Plan, co-ordinates and manages all inputs to the development of project options, project approval documents, business cases, investment analysis reports and Treasury Board submissions.
Develop and implement information repositories, and manage all information, project monitoring and performance tracking and reporting for multiple/concurrent complex projects.
Prepare drafts or contribute to the development briefings, responses to executive, ministerial and ATIP inquiries projects activities.
Leads and participates on multi-disciplinary project teams, external consultants and clients in the delivery of accommodation space projects and provides project support/advice to clients.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
1. Experience collecting, coordinating and consolidating data from various sources, and preparing reports and briefing materials for management.
2. Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Experience extracting, analyzing and synthesizing data and other information.
4. Experience in leading or participating as a member of project teams.
5. Experience evaluating issues or requirements, developing options for implementation and making recommendations to management for approval
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience planning and developing real property strategies and projects and providing real property advice and services.
2. Experience conducting investment, cost-benefit, life cycle or other type of comparative analyses
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willing and able to work overtime on occasion.
