As a finance officer, you may report to any one area such as, Business Risk Management (BRM) Program Funding, BRM Administrative Funding, Internal Controls, AgriInsurance Finance, Corporate Finance and Audit Coordination.
Main responsibilities of this position include organizing and delivering financial activities in a computerized financial services unit; participating in development of financial plans, reports and control measures; consulting with and providing interpretations and information to both internal and external clients on finance-related guidelines, processes and procedural requirements; participating in the development of financial plans, reports, control measures or financial management tools; and contributing to the development of accounting and reporting systems.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two (2) years of a post-secondary program with specialization* in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.
*Specialization is defined as a minimum of six (6) courses within one of these areas: accounting; finance; business administration; commerce or economics.

EXPERIENCE
Experience** working in an accounting operations environment, including reviewing, validating or consolidating data for the preparation of financial reports.
Experience** in the application and interpretation of financial directives or policies or acts or regulations relating to financial management.
** Experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of experience acquired in performing a broad range of activities, normally over a cumulative period of 12 months or more.

EDUCATION
University degree or two (2) year college diploma in computer science or similar discipline.
Enrollment in the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program
EXPERIENCE
Experience** providing financial advice and guidance to cost centre managers.
Experience** in documenting processes related to processing system environments, policy, finance or program delivery management, or reporting and evaluation systems.
Experience** using SAP, Peoplesoft and Office 365.
Experience** conducting audits or reviewing financial statements.
Experience** with public sector cost sharing agreements.
Experience** with the application of internal controls.
