Intent of the process

This inventory will be used to establish pools of qualified candidates to meet future needs in the Prairie and Northern Region at Transport Canada. Pools may be used to staff other similar positions of various tenures and linguistic profiles at Transport Canada.

EDUCATION
ED1 : A secondary school diploma.
ED2 : Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma/degree in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to aircraft maintenance and/or manufacturing.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
OC: A valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Licence.

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Recent* experience:
- Holding Aircraft Certifying Authority (ACA) or Shop Certifying Authority (SCA) in a Canadian approved aircraft maintenance organization (AMO) and/or holding certifying authority within a Canadian approved manufacturing organization,
OR
- Holding supervisory or maintenance control or quality assurance responsibilities in an AMO or Canadian approved manufacturer,
EX2: Extensive experience** in the performance of complex activities in a wide variety of situations and has six (6) or more years of Industry experience as a licensed AME.
EX3: Extensive experience** demonstrating an increasing level of responsibility throughout their career.

*Recent, experience acquired within the last 6 years.
**By extensive experience, we expect the candidate has performed complex activities in a wide variety of situations.

AEX2 : Extensive experience** working in an environment dealing with Rotor Craft operations.
AEX3 : Extensive experience** working in an environment dealing with Airline operations.
AEX4 : Extensive experience** working in an environment dealing with Air Taxi operations.
AEX5 : Extensive experience** working in an environment dealing with Recreational aircraft.
AEX6 : Extensive experience** working in an environment dealing with
Manufacturing processes (welding, plating, etc.).
AEX7: Extensive experience** working in an environment dealing with Avionics maintenance and repair.
AEX8 : Extensive experience** working in an environment dealing with Non- destructive testing methods.
AEX9: Extensive experience** in the inspection, modification, repair or manufacturing of aeronautical products.
AEX10: Extensive experience** in the supervision or management of quality programs***.
AEX11: Experience working with small fixed-wing aircraft (this includes having possession of an AME license rating M1).
AEX12: Experience working with large fixed-wing aircraft (this includes having possession of an AME license rating M2).
AEX13: Extensive experience** in respect of the repair or modification of structures (sheet metal, tubular, composite, etc.);

**By extensive experience, we expect the candidate has performed complex activities in a wide variety of situations.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willing and able to occasionally work outside core business hours and on weekends.
- Willing and able to occasionally perform inspection and oversight activities in various aviation environments that may be hazardous.
- Willing and able to travel frequently.

ASSESSMENT - GENERAL INFORMATION
Random selection, invoking asset qualifications may be used in conjunction with other volume management strategies that can be applied at any stage in the staffing process.

ASSESSMENT – TRAVEL EXPENSES
Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to evaluation purposes.

ASSESSMENT – REFERENCE CHECKS
Those selected for assessment should be prepared to provide the names and contact information of recent references (recent is defined as within the last 2 years):

References must be available, have an in-depth knowledge of your work/projects, and must be able to answer specific questions pertaining to your experience, achievements and strengths.

References that are not reachable and/or not available are lowering the candidates’ chances to be found fully qualified and be considered for appointment. When providing names of references, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they are available to respond in a timely manner.

ASSESSMENT – RESCHEDULING
Rescheduling will only be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation will be required at the time of your request to be rescheduled.
Possible reasons for alternate assessment dates:
· Medical reason with doctor's certificate;
· Death in the immediate family;
· Professional obligation (proof required);
· Confirmation of pre-approved travel plans; or
· Religious reasons.
