➤ Investigates security incidents, oversees proactive measures and implements corrective action; conducts technical research, participates in forensic analysis; provides guidance, and assistance to clients in following approved IT security standards and procedures and in developing and implementing solutions; provides technical advice, analysis and assistance to projects and clients on IT security matters and acts as a subject matter resource on Departmental and Government of Canada IT security policies, guidelines and best practices.
➤ Reviews Statement of Sensitivity documents and guides clients with regard to changes required to address security standards deficiencies. Participates in the conduct of threat risk assessments of IT and voice/data systems.
➤ Develops, provides and maintains documentation on security standards, guidelines, user manuals, information and written and oral responses to client inquiries, and provides training to clients regarding IT security matters.
➤ Represents the project team in discussions with clients and technical staff to persuade or obtain agreement on the requirements for security or the resolution of technical issues.
➤ Participates in IT security integration analysis and secure electronic service delivery (SESD) project teams and occasionally leads short-term project teams.
➤ Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in IT security development and implementation

Our team is located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven), in a modern building with plenty of free parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building, free use of a gym, a Tim Hortons and a cafeteria onsite.
Flexibility may be provided by offering employees the opportunity to work remotely (virtually) from anywhere in Canada, if feasible. This determination will be made once the process is completed.
The immediate need is to staff 13 positions on an indeterminate basis with various language requirements as well as a RCMP Top Secret security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

► Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes:
1.Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2.It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
3.At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Top Secret security clearance - RCMP
