In the Project Manager role, you will be leading your team to deliver on project objectives. As such, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders ranging from uniformed members, the general public, support staff, developers and more!

Your core responsibilities will include:
• Planning, managing and controlling project scope, schedule, cost, quality, etc. to meet project objectives
• Delegating responsibilities to develop your project team
• Communicating project status and determining if issues need to be escalated to the project governance board
• Creating project documentation
• Leading discussions with stakeholders to refine requirements
• Supporting the transition of a product into program state

We’re looking for a leader who is results driven; is able to understand the needs of a team that may work remotely and inspire their teammates to produce their best quality work; and has experience with the creation, implementation and support of IT projects.

Intent of the process

Anticipatory.

The anticipated intent/result of this process is to staff (on a full time basis) one term position.

This is a temporary position until March 31, 2022, with possibility of extension.

A qualified pool will be established and may be used for future temporary vacancies (including term, acting, or assignment).

Phase 1 of this process will be used to staff a temporary position as outlined above. Only candidates who indicate that they are willing and able to accept a temporary position will be considered for Phase 1 if they are referred. Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

Education:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Notes:
1. Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
2. It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.

If a qualified candidate has been selected and appointed on an indeterminate basis from the established pool, they will be removed from the pool. If a candidate is selected for a specified period (including term, acting, or assignment/secondment) appointment, they will remain in the pool for future offers.

This process and the resulting pool will only be used to staff positions in the RCMP.

Experience qualifications will be assessed upon application. Further confirmation or assessment may be conducted through reference checks.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring.
