Update: Please note that this poster has been modified and a sub-group has been removed due to the fact that we currently do not have sufficient data to demonstrate a gap for this group in our department. Please be assured that the intent was not to create discriminatory effects and that all information shared by candidates will remain confidential.
We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) changes people's lives in Canada and around the world every day. The decisions we make today will reverberate in Canada for generations to come. (As Canada changes), we recognize that building the best policies and programs for our collective future means having an inclusive workforce with a diversity of experiences, perspectives and backgrounds that reflects Canada's now and in the future. We also recognize our responsibility and are fully committed to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and finding and eliminating racism as well as systemic and structural barriers in our people management, policy and programs. In order to achieve this goal, we strongly encourage you to tell us if you belong to one or more of the following groups: (Indigenous, Black and other racialized minorities, Persons with a Disability and Women).
✋Are you a member of one or more of the following groups: Indigenous Peoples, Black and other Racialized People (also referred to Visible Minority in the Employment Equity Act which is under review), Persons with a disability or Women? Do you have strong leadership skills that would benefit the Public Service? Are you looking for increasing opportunities for advancement and to lead? If you answered “yes” to these questions, working at IRCC could be a great fit for you.✋
You only need to apply once to be considered for many opportunities. Don’t worry, once your application is in our inventory, even if your application is not selected for one job, it remains in the inventory and can be selected for other opportunities. As an applicant, you can go back and update your resume or respond to the pre-screening questions anytime until you have been assessed.
When proceeding with an inventory pull of candidates based on a specific staffing need, hiring managers may add other qualifications (either essential or asset) to the ones listed on this advertisement. Should your application be pulled from the inventory, you will then be asked to provide clear, detailed and concrete examples for each qualification selected by the hiring manager, if applicable.
►Already a substantive EX-01 employee (or equivalent) or qualified candidate
in an EX-01 pool? We also encourage you to apply!
NOTE: We understand that the phrasing, Black, Indigenous and/or Racialized People, is not a perfect definition, just as the terminology of "Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC)" doesn't show the individual attention that each group deserves. As we focus on the big picture of addressing racism, we are currently following the language used by the Federal Anti-Racism Secretariat.

IRCC has been working steadily to make changes in the way we work, including developing an action plan to implement measures set out in the Clerk's Call to Action, IRCC's Anti-Racism Value Statement and the 2020-21 Deputy Minister's Commitments. IRCC is committed to dedicating time and resources to focus on eight objectives to measurably and significantly advance its efforts on anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion.

Information on employment equity
To avoid situations of conflict of interest and conflict of duties with the goal of upholding the values and ethics of the public sector and the public interest, applicants providing immigration consulting services (both registered and unregistered, paid and/or unpaid), would be required to recuse themselves from these duties for the duration of their employment, should they be appointed to a position within Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Moreover, prospective appointees who are Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) would be required to resign from Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). Of note, a “leave of absence” from the Regulatory Council does not meet IRCC’s requirement in the matter.
Only on-line applications will be accepted. All job applications must therefore be submitted through the Public Service Resourcing System (PSRS). Persons with disabilities preventing them from applying on-line are asked to contact the Public Service Commission at 1-800-645-5605.
Please note that this is a pilot inventory which will be open for one (1) year, with the possibility of being extended.
The first inventory pull will begin in mid-December 2021, with the screening phase. Other screening processes will be conducted periodically, as required. You will ONLY be contacted if you are being considered for a position.
Candidates must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to a position. Some positions within IRCC may have different asset qualifications, operational requirements, or organizational needs. Consequently, if a person is appointed to a position, he/she will only be required to meet the asset qualifications, operational requirements, or organizational needs associated with that specific position. Meeting these criteria is nonetheless desirable and may be a deciding factor for the staffing of some positions.
