1) You are required to complete screening questions that clearly demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria of education, experience and any asset education and asset experience if applicable. Your response must include HOW (concrete examples), WHEN (dates) and WHERE (location of work) you meet the essential criteria required. Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff various CR-04, CR-05 and AS-01 positions, or equivalent, with employment tenures, language and security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations that will vary depending on the position being staffed.

Please note that an assignment appointment requires approval of your supervisor.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

Stream 1: Recent* and significant** experience in providing administrative support services*** in an office environment.

Stream 2: Experience in providing administrative support services* in an office environment.

Stream 1 and 2: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications including word processors and/or spreadsheets.

Stream 1 and 2: Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone, in writing or in person.

Recent* - is having the experience acquired within the last three (3) years.

Significant** - is defined as a depth and breadth of experience normally acquired with having performed a broad range of duties for a minimum of one year.

Administrative support services*** - defined as, for example, but not limited to: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, processing and preparing correspondence, receiving calls and welcoming visitors and other related duties.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Varies according to the requirements of the position to be staffed. i.e. Enhanced Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance

Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc . As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

To be granted RCMP security clearance and to maintain the ethical standards of the RCMP, candidates must not be, or have been, involved in certain criminal activities*, have been dishonourably discharged, have pending personal bankruptcies, etc. For additional information and a complete list of activities, please visit http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/good-character and read the section titled “To apply as a police officer, you”, as well as the applicable considerations under “Evaluating your past actions”.
