The Information Management & Technology Services (IM&TS) directorate provides Information Management (IM) and Information Technology (IT) services to all program managers within Fisheries and Oceans across Canada.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 6 bilingual positions with Reliability Status security across Canada. A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles as well as various security clearances within Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).

**This pool MAY be shared with other organizations within the core public administration (http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/plcy-pltq/rfli-lirf/index-eng.htm) in order to facilitate appointments of candidates from the pool to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level to their respective organizations.

EDUCATION
ALL STREAMS
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Notes:
1. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IT Group on mm/dd/yyyy who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT Group.

2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

**A random and/or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.**

EXPERIENCE
ALL STREAMS
Significant* experience working on IM/IT projects or providing IT services in an IM/IT environment.
Significant* experience developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal or external clients or partners.
Experience briefing, advising and conducting presentations to Management** on IM/IT related topics.

EXPERIENCE
STREAM 1 - Client Portfolio Management (CPM)
Significant* experience engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including, leading requirement elicitation working sessions, gathering and analysing business and technical requirements, and developing and presenting recommendations/solutions

STREAM 2 - Project Management Office (PMO)
Experience preparing reports on project status and progress.

*Significant is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of related activities over a period of (3) years.
**Management is defined as Manager level and above.
