Work environment

We are offering a stimulating work environment that is integral to the activities of the Department of Environment and Climate Change. The incumbent will work on a team responsible for editing and translating high-profile communication documents, such as news releases, media advisories, backgrounders, speeches, key messages, questions and answers, social media messages, internal senior management messages and Web content. The position requires the superior skills of a language specialist, since the team members work together to determine correct usage and terminology to describe the Department’s programs. The writer-editor is a member of a team of language professionals in a dynamic work environment that handles nearly a million words a year.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff immediately two (2) positions. One (1) French Revisor on a permanent basis and one (1) English Revisor on a temporary basis for 6 months with possibility of extension. A pool of partially and/or fully qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various linguistic profiles and/or requirements, various security clearance levels as well as various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, secondment, assignment) according to the position being staffed across Canada.

IMPORTANT:
All federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act may use this staffing process to appoint a candidate to its organization in a similar position.
