Duties

What you will be doing:
- Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state), and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
- Analyze the business structure and service delivery framework and make recommendations to implement value-added changes to strategic, core, and support business functions and processes.
- Work closely with Client Relationship Management team and business clients to understand and capture functional and non-functional requirements for IT investments that support business capabilities.
- Lead workshops and meetings with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, identify and map expected outcomes, develop and communicate strategic and operational business designs and process models.
- Design and direct the governance activities associated with architecture assurance and compliance.
- Understand and analyze technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of Bilingual Imperative (BBB/BBB) on an indeterminate basis.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
- A degree from a post-secondary institution with a specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another field relevant OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience, training and education.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Recent* and significant** experience in in examining and identifying candidate business processes for re-design and identifying options for improvement.
- Significant** experience using modeling techniques to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business.
- Significant** experience modeling future state business processes.
- Experience in providing advice to senior management verbally and in writing.
- Experience in applying architectural principles to business solutions.

*“Recent” is defined as having been acquired in the last 2 years.
**Significant means the depth and breadth of experience that is normally acquired by performing the tasks over a period of 5 years or more.

*Financial services sector includes experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, and accounting firms (dealing with audits), as well as government departments that directly deal with the Supervision and Regulation of these institutions, or other relevant areas.

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from LRT and STO stops.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
