The intent of this selection process is to staff two positions on an indeterminate basis. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various language requirements and various tenures (indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, secondment or assignment) within Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.

EDUCATION:
- A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, economics, or other relevant field of study and accreditation for a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA).
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience analysing data or investigating legal, financial or business information and formulating recommendations.
- Experience in providing written and oral briefings to senior management, including analysis, advice and recommendations.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Experience in managing and monitoring contribution agreements or major financial contracts.

Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of economic development organizations operating in Northern Ontario, including their mandates, strategic priorities and roles in community economic development.
- Knowledge of private sector and not-for-profit financial analysis, including financial ratio analysis.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of financial management and accounting principles in the private and/or public sector.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Ability to apply due diligence practices and techniques for assessing complex business plans and/or funding applications.
- Ability to undertake strategic analysis and synthesize information.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally, including government stakeholders, to jointly address a challenge and/or an opportunity.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
PERSONAL SUITABILITY:
- Planning and organizing.
- Relationship management and collaboration.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in making presentations to groups of business or community leaders.
- Experience in using a client relationship management software.
- Experience in supervising employees.

- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
