Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements, tenures and security requirements within Public Services and Procurement Canada. The position to staff is located in Gatineau but the pool can be used to staff positions in Ottawa.

EXPERIENCE
EX1 - Extensive* and recent** experience in administering and interpreting the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act or any similar legislation (e.g. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPA), etc.)
EX2 - Extensive* and recent** experience in analyzing, researching and reviewing sensitive information, within the formalized access to information and privacy process, for the purpose of making disclosure recommendations based on the provision of the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act or any similar legislation.
EX3 - Recent** experience in providing advice to managers relating to the application of the provisions of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act or any similar legislation.
EX4 - Recent** experience in negotiating information disclosures with dissenting parties, such as requesters, departmental officials, managers, third parties, or investigators.

* Extensive in this context is understood to mean the depth and breadth normally acquired from having performed a broad range of activities in this field on a full time basis over a period of approximately three (3) years.
**Recent in this context is understood to mean within the last five (5) years.

K1 - Knowledge of the roles and relationships between the private sector, federal departments and central agencies in the context of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.
K2 - Extensive* knowledge of the Access to Information Act, Privacy Act and their regulations; and related Treasury Board Secretariat policies, directives, and guidelines.

* Extensive in this context is understood to mean the depth and breadth normally acquired from having performed a broad range of activities in this field on a full time basis over a period of approximately three (3) years.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
