Duties

Medical adjudicators determine whether or not our clients are eligible for benefits. They are registered nurses who use their health science knowledge, the Canada Pension Plan Disability legislation, and the medical information provided by the client and health professionals.They problem solve and make decisions by using their nursing knowledge and experience. Successful applicants will regularly use their written and oral communication skills, and work in an open office environment.

A covering letter "Your cover letter will be used to assess your Communication (written) skills which includes the ability to demonstrate understanding. You must clearly demonstrate how you meet the occupational certification and experience criteria listed in the essential qualifications section. Please use each criterion as a header. For the experience criterion, provide clear and concrete examples in a maximum of two paragraphs, explaining when, where and how you obtained this experience. Candidates must maintain this occupational certification throughout their employment:
Currently registered as a registered nurse (RN) in the province or territory where you work and be a member in good standing in that province or territory, as well as be willing and eligible to register, at the time of appointment, in the province or territory of the location where the position will be staffed. AND Entitled to practice with no restrictions.

Adjudication experience with Canada Pension Plan Disability, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Veterans Affairs, private insurers, or other medically-based disability programs.

Management may choose one or more Asset Qualifications at the screening stage.

A written exam, an interview, a situational exercise, and reference checks may be part of the assessment process.

Failure to participate in assessments as scheduled may result in the rejection of your candidacy.

All information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidates.

Candidates will be required to submit their proof of education and occupational certification documents at the time of assessment.

Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency will be required.
