Provision of procurement, technical, conference logistics and administrative services in support of the planning and conduct of First Ministers’ and Premiers’ conferences as well as for Federal-Provincial-Territorial and Provincial-Territorial conferences of Ministers and Deputy Ministers.
UPDATE RE: COVID-19 WORKING SITUATION:
Currently no travel is predicted for the foreseeable future. All of our events are
currently taking place via videoconference or teleconference and all our employees are
teleworking from home. However, this is not a permanent situation.
CICS is an impartial agency whose mandate is to provide administrative support and planning services for Federal-Provincial-Territorial and Provincial-Territorial conferences of First Ministers, Ministers and Deputy Ministers, throughout Canada. We thrive on helping governments by delivering impartial and professional conference services, with innovative solutions.
We are a Micro-Agency of approximately 30 employees. Workplace culture is centered on TEAMWORK. Everyone helps each other out, at the office and on conference sites, to provide the best possible service to clients. We are a completely mobile workforce.

The intent of this selection process is to staff one position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff identical or similar positions within Canadian Intergovernmental Conference Secretariat. These positions may be staffed on an indeterminate (appointment or deployment) or temporary basis (term, acting, assignment or secondment).

EDUCATION:
ED1 - A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
E1 - Experience providing logistical, audiovisual and web conferencing support to conferences or meetings.
E2 - Experience in procurement or contracting in relation to the acquisition of equipment and/or services.
E3 - Experience providing client services.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

KNOWLEDGE:
K1 - Knowledge of the mandate and activities of the Canadian Intergovernmental Conference Secretariat (CICS).
K2 - Knowledge of audio-visual equipment and their installation and setup.

EDUCATION:
AED1 - Certificate or diploma in audiovisual and/or multimedia technologies or computer sciences.
EXPERIENCE:
AE1- Experience planning and serving senior level* conferences and/or meetings that include significant** government participation.
* Senior level is defined as being at the executive level and above.
**Significant government participation is defined as being at the level of
deputy ministers, ministers or first ministers.
ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness and ability to travel and to work overtime on short notice.
Secret security clearance
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and on a regular basis across Canada to conference sites including weekends.
- Willingness and ability to work irregular hours and frequent overtime in make-shift offices while on conference sites.
