Work environment

Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is looking for dynamic candidates to join its procurement team. As part of the operations team, as a Contracting Officer you will have the opportunity to award contracts for the acquisition of goods, services and construction for both DFO and the Canadian Coast Guard. You will collaborate with the various clients on a regular basis to anticipate and analyze their requirements, develop strategies and options to meet objectives and provide advice on very interesting projects.

In addition, DFO offers a working environment where work life flexibility is really important. Depending on personal situations, we offer the opportunity to work both from the office and from home.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 3 positions in Fredericton at the Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB level, on an indeterminate basis.

The intent of this advertisement is to also create an inventory of partially or fully assessed professionals that may be used in the future to staff similar positions within Fisheries and Oceans Canada with various tenures, various linguistic profiles, various operational requirements and/or various conditions of employment.

EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a team environment.

ASSET EDUCATION
A degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution OR graduated with a diploma from a recognized technical institute or college OR obtained a certification from a program related to procurement.

Experience in a procurement field, procuring (purchasing) goods or services.
