Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, employees of Indigenous Services Canada are currently working remotely. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their usual workspaces. Therefore, this opportunity may initially be a remote working opportunity. When it is deemed safe to return to the workplace, the opportunity will be in an Indigenous Services Canada office located in the Atlantic Region.

The intent of this process is to fill positions on an indeterminate basis within the Atlantic Region. A pool of qualified candidates will also be established and could be used to fill identical or similar positions of various duration and with different linguistic profiles within Indigenous Services Canada offices within the Atlantic Region and across Canada.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two (2) years of postsecondary* education.
OR
An acceptable combination** of education, training and/or experience.
*Postsecondary is a reference to education subsequent to high school and includes college, CEGEP or university programs.
**Acceptable combination is defined as a minimum of a high school diploma and two (2) years’ experience and/or training in a field relevant to the position (i.e. items listed under Essential Experience and/or asset criteria, or any other related experience).
EXPERIENCE
Experience* in providing advice on a program or service.
Experience* in researching and analysing information in order to inform management or propose an action plan.
Experience* in analyzing and assessing material for content and quality assurance.
*Experience refers to the breadth and depth of the experience acquired (demonstrated by the performance of diverse and associated duties) for a minimum of one (1) year.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in project or program management or administration.
Experience working with Indigenous people or First Nations communities or organizations.
Experience working in a federally regulated program.
Experience working with funding agreements.
Experience in providing administrative duties related to financial management including forecasting expenditures, tracking and reporting.

1. Applications that are retained or screened-in are those that provide information in the prescreening questionnaire that demonstrate meeting the essential education and experiences. You must provide your education level and the institution where you attained this level, and concrete examples on how you meet each of the four essential experience elements and the period of time the experiences were acquired. The resume provided will only be used to corroborate information provided in the questionnaire.
2. Candidates are also asked to confirm and provide examples on any of the asset criteria they meet. However, it is important to note that ONLY the essential education and experiences criteria determine those applications that are screened in.
3. The application will be used to assess the ability to communicate effectively in writing for those candidates whose applications are retained to be assessed further.
4. The criterion "Showing initiative and being action-oriented" will be assessed through a question while completing your application. Successful completion of this question is necessary in order for your application to be considered at the next stage of the process. It is important to provide a complete answer.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
