The intent of this process is to staff two FO-03 positions, one English Essential (Corner Brook, Newfoundland) and one bilingual (CBC/CBC) (Fredericton, New Brunswick). Consideration may be given to staffing the position located in Fredericton on a non-imperative basis, if there are no qualified, bilingual (CBC/CBC) candidates.
A pool of (fully or partially) qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.)), various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education (Stream A & B):
Graduation with a degree in forestry or wood science from a recognized post-secondary institution or;
Graduation with a degree in a related science from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with acceptable experience in forest management
Experience (Stream A & B):
Providing strategic written and verbal advice to senior management (Directors/Director Generals) on forest management and research
Planning, developing and mobilizing resources for projects on forest related research or forest management
Promoting awareness and knowledge transfer of the organization’s forest research activities to province, industry and other forest sector practitioners
Managing relevant human, financial, technical and real property resources
Various language requirements

Experience with conservation of seed from woody plants or shrubs

Experience in implementing or managing joint programs with Indigenous communities or other stakeholders (e.g. other government, non-governmental organizations) on forestry or conservation projects
