Duties

The Program Support team (recruitment, training and standards) : responsible for recruiting and training fishery officers, acquiring and maintaining equipment, ensuring that conditions of employment for fishery officers are maintained, occupational health and safety, staffing, operational planning and budgeting, accountability reporting, and providing management and the other teams with support to carry out their various mandates.

You will work on the picturesque campus of the Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO), located on the shores of the Bedford Basin in Dartmouth Nova Scotia.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff immediately one (1) Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB position on a permanent basis in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. A pool of candidates may be established to staff similar/identical positions on an indeterminate, term and/or acting basis.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in interpreting and applying policies, Acts, procedures and/or regulations
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing information from various sources to make decisions or recommendations to management or clients
- Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal or external stakeholders or third party service providers
