The Information Management Officer (Both Streams) reports directly to the Team Lead, Information Management (IM) Services within the Branch. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for implementing and supporting sound Information Management (IM) practices within the assigned sector, branch or office, including offering training to employees. We are looking for people recognized for their initiative and client focus and enjoy a work environment that values innovation.

This process is for 2 types of positions:
- Stream 1 is targeting subject matter experts that will work under the guidance of a Team Lead whereas,
- Stream 2 is targeting subject matter expert who will also lead a team of functional specialists.

Intent of the process

The intent is to create two partially assessed pools:
- Stream 1: for indeterminate Unilingual or Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB positions.
- Stream 2: for a Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB indeterminate positions.

The established pools may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (e.g. acting, term, assignment, indeterminate, deployment, etc), language requirements/profiles and conditions of employment in the Federal Public Service across Canada.

EDUCATION
ED: A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives*.

*Alternatives:
◦A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
◦An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX1: Significant** experience in managing and delivering organizational Information Management (IM) life-cycle services and projects

EX2: Experience* in managing and delivering services for organizational electronic documents and records management systems (EDRMS) (e.g., SharePoint, RDIMS, GCdocs, Content Server)

EX3: Significant** experience in identifying and interpreting the IM requirements of the business of the organization

EX4: Experience* in training clients and/or coaching on the use or application of IM rules and tools to support the business of an organization

EX5: Experience* in identifying systemic IM problems and challenges and in recommending solutions.

*Experience is defined as the breadth and depth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of duties and having performed those duties on a regular basis for a period of approximately one (1) year.

**Significant experience is defined as the breadth and depth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of duties and having performed those duties on a regular basis for a period of approximately three (3) years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
AED1: Successful completion of a two-year program from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in a field related to information management (Acceptable programs of study include but are not limited to: Information and Records Management, Library Science, Archival Studies, Business Administration)

AED2: Graduation with a postgraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in a field related to information management. (Acceptable programs of study include but are not limited to: Information and Records Management, Library Science, Archival Studies, Business Administration).

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

AEX1: Experience working on GCdocs (OpenText Content Server) projects in the capacity of IM subject matter expert.

AEX2: Experience working with SharePoint in the capacity of IM subject matter expert.

AEX3: Experience working with Office 365 in the capacity of IM subject matter expert.

Stream 2 only (Team Lead)
AEX4: Experience in leading or supervising staff or contractors.
