Departmental Security Section (DSS), within Federal, Investigative Services and Organized Crime (FISOC), supports operations by ensuring the security of RCMP Assets (Personnel, Property, Information) in the Pacific Region. The Branch is located in the RCMP Headquarters in Surrey, BC where it is nestled within the Green Timbers Urban Forest. The Security Risk Program works closely with the Personnel Security team on risk mitigation strategies in its operations.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is looking for experienced individuals to join our dynamic team. We offer a respectful and healthy work environment that offers flexible work arrangements to ensure work-life balance. If you possess great analytical and judgement skills, would like to contribute to the safety and security of RCMP assets, as well as enjoy challenging investigations through face-to-face and phone interviews using risk mitigation strategies working with a dynamic Security Risk team in DSS, we want to hear from you.
Working a combination of remote and onsite location is the current preferred working arrangement in light of the challenges presented by COVID-19. Occasional travel to and from other cities and remote areas within and outside of BC may be required. Employees are expected to be willing and able to work in office post pandemic to resume normal operations.
This process will be used to staff positions in order to conduct face-to-face and phone Interviews. The investigations will include current employees, potential hires and contactors requiring facility Access, enhanced Reliability Status and a Security Clearance.
The positions require investigations and interviews that may involve information that may be personal, private, sensitive, and disturbing in nature. These positions are located in law enforcement environment that includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers and will expose you to the many non-Police careers available within the RCMP.
A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary, acting or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours).
Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.
