The Data Analyst will be responsible for specific components of major macroeconomic indicators such as Gross Domestic Products, Balance of Payments and Financial Wealth Accounts and Government Finance Statistics The analyst will be responsible for compiling estimates from various data sources, analyzing and confronting the data in the context of the total national accounts.
The incumbent will gain expertise in elements of the Macroeconomic Accounts, providing expert advice, information and recommendations to Senior Management, clients and stakeholders.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates will be established through this process to staff future positions with various tenures (indeterminate, determinate, deployment, acting, and assignment/secondment) with similar requirements, various language requirements and profiles and various security requirements, which may vary according to the position being staffed.
Results of this staffing process may be used for similar positions in the Agency and other departments and agencies in the federal government.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in economics or statistics.
*Degree refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.
An acceptable specialization must include at least four semester-based courses (or an equivalent of two year-long courses) in one of the following areas: economics or statistics.
EXPERIENCE
EXP1 - Significant experience** in analyzing and interpreting economic, business, financial or accounting data.
EXP2 - Experience* in using statistical analysis software such as SAS, Python, SPSS, STATA, or other similar analytical software packages.
EXP3 - Experience* in using quantitative methods.
EXP4 - Experience* in data visualization, communication and presentation.
EXP5 - Experience working with Gross Domestic Product, Balance of Payments, Financial Wealth Accounts or Government Financial Statistics.
*Experiences can be demonstrated through employment or academic activity.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired over two years where:
a) The applicant performed a wide range of complex analyses and interpretations of economic, business, financial or accounting data.
And/Or
b) The applicant pursued postgraduate studies in economics, mathematics, statistics or business.

Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized university with a specialization in economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field to the duties of the position.
